Another NY Times Bestseller  book by Chris Enss

Chris Enss' non-fiction book, THE DOCTOR WORE PETTICOATS: WOMEN PHYSICIANS OF THE OLD WEST, has already reached the NY Times Bestseller list. "No Women Need Apply."  These four discouraging words of admonition often greeted female physicians looking for jobs in the frontier-era West.  Despite the dire need for medical help, it seemed most trappers, miners and emigrants would rather suffer and die than be treated by a female doctor.  Nevertheless dozens of highly trained women headed West.  This latest book by Chris has been published by Rowan & Littlefied Publishing Group and is available on Amazon at:

A new thriller in the Gil Malloy Series of books, BLONDE ICE, by Dick Belsky

Blonde Ice, the fourth novel in the bestselling Gil Malloy Series of books written by Dick Belsky, starting with the highly-acclaimed The Kennedy Connection, has just been released by Atria Press to rave reviews:

“Insightful and genuinely interesting characters, gritty atmospherics, and a wry sense of humor power the plot, which is filled with enough bombshell twists to keep readers guessing until the very last page.” —Publishers Weekly

“There’s tension, turmoil, and drama on every page.  Belsky has a masterful talent for wordplay, one that holds you tight until all is revealed.  Blonde Ice is an intelligent and delectable treat for the mind.” (Steve Berry, New York Times bestselling author)

“Blonde Ice is white-hot.  Even better than its title is Dick Belsky’s thriller itself.  Read it and . . . burn, baby, burn!” (Joe Eszterhas, screenwriter for "Basic Instinct" and New York Times bestselling author)

Son of Sam. Ted Bundy. The Boston Strangler. All of these infamous serial killers who made front page news shared a common trait—they were men who killed women for a sexual thrill. But now Gil Malloy—ace reporter for the New York Daily News—is on the trail of a different kind of serial killer who breaks all of the rules. Dubbed “Blonde Ice” by the media, she’s a sexy blonde who picks up seemingly random men at bars and clubs, has sex with them, and then brutally murders them afterwards.

Malloy—who is already in the middle of a major political story about the election of the next New York City mayor—finds himself drawn to the case by secrets from his past. As he digs deeper, he begins to suspect that there could be some kind of link between the mayoral race and the emergence of the Blonde Ice killings.

As the body count and the political stakes continue to rise, Malloy soon realizes he’s covering what could be the biggest story of his career. All he has to do is live through it

NY Time's Best Selling Author, Chris Enss, has a new book out this month

A new book by client and NY Times Bestselling author, Chris Enss, Entertaining Women: Actresses, Dancers, and Singers in the Old West shines a spotlight on the women performers who traveled across the wild frontier. Many of the most popular women entertainers of the mid-and-late 1800s performed in the boomtowns that dotted the West, drawn by the same desire for riches that took miners and merchants there, and bringing a variety of talents and programs. Though they were sometimes literally showered with gold, their personal lives were often marked by tragedy and unhappiness.

The stories contained in Entertaining Women: Actresses, Dancers, and Singers in the Old West reveal the entertaining side, but also some of the hardships of the American West.

THE KENNEDY CONNECTION, a new thriller by client, R.G. Belsky

Dick Belsky's newest novel, THE KENNEDY CONNECTION,  has been published  to great reviews by Atria (a division of Simon & Schuster).  It's a bold and entertaining thriller about a discredited newspaper reporter, Gil Malloy, who breaks the story of the link between seemingly unconnected murders--a Kennedy half-dollar found at each of current crime scenes in Manhattan.  At the same time, a man emerges who claims to be the secret son of Lee Harvey Oswald and says he has proof that Oswald was innocent of the JFK killing.  These two tales of suspense fuse into an edge-of-your seat thriller as Malloy races to stop the killer and resurrect his career in the process.

Dick Belsky, managing editor of news for and formerly managing editor for the New York Daily News,  has a commitment to write two sequels to THE KENNEDY CONNECTION.  He is also the author of LOVERBOY, PLAYING DEAD and the JENNY McKAY MYSTERY series of books.

OBJECT MATRIMONY is Chris Enss' latest book due out this month

Desperate to strike it rich or eager for free land, men went into the frontier West alone and sacrificed many creature comforts. Only after they arrived at their destinations did some of them realize how much they missed female companionship.

Complete with historic photographs and actual advertisements from both women seeking husbands and men seeking brides, Object Matrimony includes stories of courageous mail order brides and their exploits as well as stories of the marriage brokers, the mercenary matchmakers looking to profit off of the miners and settlers. Some of these stories end happily ever after; others reveal desperate situations that robbed the brides of their youth and sometimes their lives.

Object MatrimonyThe Risky Business of Mail-Order Matchmaking on the Western Frontier was written by Chris Enss. Enss is the author of more than two dozen books published by Globe Pequot Press. The national launch of the book will be held on Saturday, October 6 at the Nevada County Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum in Nevada City, California from noon until 3 p.m.. The book is now available in  bookstores everywhere.

The original novel, The Killer Elite, written by client Robert Syd Hopkins (under his pseudonym,
Robert Rostand), and which spawned the cult-favorite, Sam Peckinpah directed, MGM/UA film starring
James Caan and Robert Duvall, is now available on Amazon's Kindle and Barnes and Noble's Nook.
The Killer Elite is the first novel in a trilogy of hard-edged thrillers dating back to the end of the Cold
War and featuring former State Department specialist in transport and security, Mike Locken, a brazen "roughneck" (as one reviewer called him) and a definite magnet for nasty people.

My husband, film producer Phil Rogers, and comic strip creator, Bill Holbrook, are developing an
adaptation of Holbrook's long-running and successful Internet comic strip, to be
produced in animation and airing on television.  It is anticipated that a short, animated sales presentation
will be filmed in Spring of 2011 for submission to network and cable executives.
The comic strip's storyline is about an inter-species family where the husband, Kevin, a huge, affable rabbit
and herbivore; the wife, Kell, a petite, she-wolf carnivore, live in a hollowed out tree house in a suburban-like
environment with their three children: Lindesfarne, his adopted, college-age hedgehog daughter; Rudy,
her teen, wolf-cub son from a previous marriage; and their toddler, Coney, a sharp-fanged, carnivorous
The comic strip and the proposed TV series adaptation lampoon and satirize today's suburban families,
frequently with a dangerous twist.
